New Basic Moves

Seize (Cold)

Use this move when you try to make something happen through force.

7-9: Choose 1; 10+: Choose 3.

  • It's yours, indisputably.
  • You don't hurt yourself in the process.
  • You hurt someone while you're doing it.
  • You cow or awe someone.
  • You take more than you planned.

Stand (Cold)

Use this move when you withstand an assault or hold fast.

7-9: Hold 1; 10+: Hold 3.

  • Pick an enemy. He/she can't hurt anyone.
  • Nothing hurts you.
  • An opportunity arises.
  • An enemy focuses all his/her attention on you.
  • You see a chance to maneuver.

Take (Cold)

Use this move when you try to make something happen through cunning.

7-9: Choose 1; 10+: Choose 3.

  • It's yours, indisputably.
  • You don't lose something in the process.
  • You don't get caught or suspected.
  • The act is famed or not noticed at all.
  • You find something while you are there.

Discern (Sharp)

Use this move when you try to figure something out.

7-9: Hold 1; 10+: Hold 3.

  • What here could I use to my advantage?
  • How could I use it to my advantage?
  • What here is not as it seems?
  • What has just occurred here?
  • What should I keep an eye out for?
  • What is most dangerous to me?
  • How is this dangerous?

Parley (Flesh)

Use this move when you try to influence others.

7-9: Choose 1; 10+: Choose 3.

  • If you believe something, they believe it too.
  • You gain a valuable item or piece of information.
  • They change their attitude to you.
  • They become interested or uninterested in something.
  • You affect an extraordinarily large amount of people, or affect them deeply.

Read (Flesh)

Use this move when you size someone up.

7-9: Hold 1; 10+: Hold 3.

  • Is this person lying?
  • How does this person feel?
  • What are these person's plans?
  • What does this person want me to do?
  • How could I get this person to do what I want?

Manifest (Ruin)

Use this move when you perform a ritual.

7-9: GM chooses 1; 10+: You choose 1.

  • The ritual is weak.
  • The ritual misfires.
  • You are attacked during the ritual.
  • This is the last time you can perform that ritual.
  • The ritual attracts someone or something's attention.

Use this move when you celebrate or slum it.

  • You make a friend.
  • You find something out.
  • You are offered a quest.
  • You learn of a danger.
